Sherwood Area Chamber of Commerce Column: Sherwood's annual classic car show rolls in for its 34th year

SHERWOOD, Ore. — Traditions are more than memories — they are the threads that stitch a family together, and a community as well. In Sherwood, we honor our traditions by living them, celebrating them, and passing them on. And one tradition that shines brighter than ever is the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce’s 34th Annual Classic Car Show. It’s returning this summer with more horsepower, history, and hometown pride than ever.

For car enthusiasts, this event is a dream come true. The streets will be lined with vintage beauties, chrome-heavy classics, and muscle cars that rumble like thunder. Whether you are drawn to the sleek lines of a ’57 Chevy, the raw power of a ’69 Camaro, or the timeless craftsmanship of early-era roadsters, you will find something that stops you in your tracks. These cars are not just automobiles from days gone by – they’re stories on wheels, restored with passion and preserved with care.

And there’s even more this year. A tradition that took place before the isolation of Covid was registered participants gathering the night before the show for some fun and camaraderie. It was an informal gathering that captured the name “Friday Night Thunder.”  The event has returned this year and everyone is on the guest list.  It will kick off with a parade of cars on Friday evening starting from the YMCA.
