SHERWOOD, Ore. — Sherwood’s plan for the future of transportation is moving forward.

The City of Sherwood has a winter transportation open house slated for Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 4:30-7 p.m. in City Hall’s community room.

Discussion will be centered around the 2026 Transportation System Plan update, capital improvement projects, and the Elwert/Edy roadway realignment project.

The Transportation System Plan (TSP) is a land use project in currently the design phase. It is a comprehensive process that helps shape the future of Sherwood’s transportation, guiding long-term investments in roads, sidewalks, bike lanes, transit, and other mobility options intended to keep multi-modal travel safe, efficient, and sustainable.

Sherwood’s current TSP was adopted in 2014, but state law requires it to be updated every 10 years, according to the city. The new TSP is intended provide a 20-year long-term plan for the future of transportation in Sherwood.

The new TSP update was launched in April 2025, and is expected to take up to 21 months to complete. It includes assessing current transportation needs, exploring future opportunities, and developing new strategies to improve connectivity.

The project is led by City of Sherwood staff and a consulting team from Portland-based Kittelson & Associates engineers. A citizen advisory committee, a technical advisory committee, and public engagement such as the upcoming open house will help shape the plan.

Sherwood residents can email the team with questions, comments, or feedback at tspupdate@sherwoodoregon.gov
