SHERWOOD, Ore. — In June 2017, Matt Whitaker and I opened Evolve Physical Therapy with a clear mission: to inspire our staff, patients, and community to live happier, healthier lives. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a 13-year Sherwood resident, opening our doors wasn’t just a business milestone: it was about meeting a vital community need for personalized, high-level physical therapy care.
Sherwood isn’t where our clinic operates; it is where I live, raise my family, and actively invest in the health and well-being of my neighbors. Based on our success in Sherwood, we opened our second location in Bethany, where Matt Whitaker lives, in December 2020.
Deep Community Roots
Our commitment to our community extends far beyond the four walls of our clinic. You’ve likely seen our team handing out drinks at the Thanksgiving Give-n-Gobble for the past eight years, hosting a booth and participating in the Robin Hood Festival parade, or leading educational in-services at the YMCA and Marjorie Steward Senior Center.
We take pride in sponsoring local youth athletics and high school teams, and in offering an annual $1,000 “Active For Life” scholarship to a graduating Sherwood High School senior. With three of our five staff members living right here in Sherwood, our connection to the area is genuine and deeply personal. We're dedicated to helping our neighbors, whether high school athletes, weekend warriors, or active grandparents, to move with confidence.

Our Sherwood facility includes specialized tools, including microgravity treadmill technology, sensory performance systems, and specialized resistance equipment, to help patients recover safely, optimize biomechanics, and rebuild strength efficiently.
