Consent Agenda

The school board approved the consent agenda at its February 9 meeting.

A preliminary financial summary shows a forecast for the 2025 -2026 fiscal year as of December 31, 2026. A cursory review of expenditures for the month of January shows payroll and other expenditures coming in slightly under the forecast through December 31. Should this continue, the outlook for the 2025-26 fiscal year may improve.

Another consent agenda item addressed resignations, leave of absence requests, and retirements.

Action Items

The board approved several action items, including a resolution approving the Bowmen House project.

On the topic of interdistrict transfers, at least once a year the board determines the number of openings for non-resident students to transfer into the Sherwood School District as well as the number of openings for resident students who transfer out of the district. The district is recommending that no students be released from the Sherwood School District for the 2026-2027 school year.

Another action item noted that the district has been awarded a Student Investment Account grant for the 2025-27 biennium in the amount of $9,167,103 from the Oregon Department of Education. Grant money is for uses including increased instructional time, addressing student’s health and safety needs, and reducing class size. The grant expires on September 30, 2027.

The next Sherwood School District board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 9.
