SHERWOOD, Ore. — It’s a yearly tradition in Sherwood, featuring shamrocks, live music, and yummy corned beef.
Clancy’s Pub and Restaurant plans to hold its St. Patrick’s Day Celebration over three days: Friday, March 13, Saturday, March 14 and St. Patrick’s Day itself, Tuesday, March 17.
Clancy’s manager, Malia Geary, says the event is a lot of fun.
“We will have live music out on the patio,” Geary said. “There will be a dance floor area. We’ll do special raffle prizes. We serve a lot of fantastic corned beef.”
Geary said her pub even hopes for a Guinness Ripple event, where an image is printed on top of your glass of Guinness. At the top of the foam, an image of your choice is laser printed.
Among the bands, at press time: Johnny Wheels and the Swamp Donkeys, Dance Machine, Bingo Therapy, and Mojo Holler, although the pub will update entertainment as the event nears.
The Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue bagpipers will entertain, as well.
Be sure to bring your appetite to the event because there will be plenty of corned beef and other menu items.
“For breakfast, a lot of times we do a corned beef eggs benedict, so anything corned beef, as well as fish and chips,” Geary said.
In addition to Guinness on tap, Clancy’s offerings include Boneyard IPA, Breakside IPA, Pallet Jack IPA and Hefeweizen.
Each year, the Sherwood community welcomes the St. Patrick’s Day event.
“For an Irish pub, it’s the day,” she said. “We definitely try to do it up. Some years we’ve blocked off the streets and done bigger celebrations, but because of the timing of St. Patrick’s Day this year, it will just be in our patio area.”
Geary said there will be a door charge for the evening event. To get the latest on the event, visit the Clancy’s Pub and Restaurant Facebook page.
